Abstract

Nurses play a pivotal role in their commitment to advancing health
development objectives, utilizing the established vision and mission as
benchmarks for serving the community. This ensures that patients receive
optimum care and treatment. This study aims to determine the effect of Islamic
work ethics on organizational commitment with job satisfaction serving as a
mediator among nurses at the Banjarnegara Islamic Hospital. The research
approach used is quantitative. The subjects were nurses at the Banjarnegara
Islamic Hospital, totaling 139 respondents. Data was collected using scales for
organizational commitment, Islamic work ethics, and job satisfaction. Data
analysis techniques include testing the outer and inner models using the
SmartPLS program. The results indicate that: Islamic work ethics do not affect
organizational commitment, Islamic work ethics affect job satisfaction, and Job
satisfaction does not affect organizational commitment. Islamic work ethics do not
affect organizational commitment when mediated by job satisfaction. It can be
concluded that job satisfaction is essential in mediating the effect of Islamic work
ethics on organizational commitment. Without satisfactory job contentment,
Islamic work ethics do not affect organizational commitment.
