This study aims to uncover the history of the founding of Muhammadiyah in
Jatilawang District, its development from 2010 to 2020, and its role in promoting
Islamic preaching. It was a qualitative study using historical methods, including
heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography, which involved the
examination and critical evalution og documents. The finding indicate that in
Jatilawang District, the Muhammadiyah association has developed and played
significant roles in education, social and economic sectors, and religious outreach
(tabligh). The Muhammadiyah Association in Jatilawang was establishedas part of
an organized effort to implement initiatives and achieve the association’s vision as
effectively as possible in bringing about or even attaining the goal of
Muhammadiyah, which is the formation of a truly Islamic society. Therefore, all
potentials, abilities, funds, support, and organizational infrastructure must be
mobilizedin implementing and succeeding in these Muhammadiyah programs.
