Abstract

Background: Nutritional status is a condition that shows a balance between the intake of nutrients from food andthe nutritional requirements needed for the body's metabolism. To improve the nutritional quality of individuals andthe community there are some efforts conducted such as improving food consumption patterns, improving thebehavior of nutrition awareness, and improving the access and quality of nutrition and health services inaccordance with scientific and technological progress.
Objective: This research aimed to discover the determinants of the occurrence of poor nutritional status in thearea of Public Health Care Center 1 Ajibarang, Banyumas Regency.
Methods: This was a research with a retrospective design. In this research, a Case-Control method was employedwith an objective approach including the data collection and analysis.
Results: The results of the researchindicated that the community with poor nutritional status had insufficient food availability (76.7%)and loweconomic condition (90%).It is obtained that the factors affecting poor nutritional status were the availability offood (P = 0,000)and economic condition(P = 0,000).
Conclusion: There were factors affecting the occurrence of poor nutritional status.
