Abstract

Law Number 24 of 2007 defines a disaster as an event that threatens and
disrupts the lives and livelihoods of the community. Abrasion is the occurrence of
coastal channel erosion accompanied by erosion due to the decay of rocks and
coastal surfaces that lack vegetation cover, making them easily swept away by
waves and causing surface landslidesThe descriptive qualitative research utilized
interviews, observations, and documentation for data processing. This research
indicates that a lack of mitigation efforts around the beach causes abrasion on
Kamulyan Beach. Mitigation efforts planned and already carried out by the
government and the community include the installation of temporary barriers and
coir coconut structures. Additionally, future projects for Kamulyan Beach involve
the construction of seawalls and coastal protection.
