Traffic accidents involve vehicles colliding with objects or other vehicles, resulting
in damage. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that traffic accidents
claim 1.2 million lives yearly. This research study aims to identify black spots (highrisk
locations), assess road marking conditions, and evaluate traffic sign conditions
on Kubangkangkung Road in Cilacap. The research location was determined on
Kubangkangkung Road in Cilacap from Sta 0+00 to Sta 5+200 using the
Cumulative Summary (Cusum) method. Based on the results of the analysis, the
characteristics of traffic accidents in Cilacap from 2017 to 2022 were obtained
from the Cilacap Police Resort (Polresta Cilacap). According to the data from
Polresta Cilacap, accidents on Kubangkangkung Road predominantly involve
motorcycles, accounting for 74%. Motorcyclists are the most common victims of
accidents. Human and environmental factors dominate the causes of traffic
accidents on Kubangkangkung Road.According to Cusum calculations, the
identified black spot is at Sta 4+000 to 4+500, with the highest Cusum value of
7.34. This is due to the road marking conditions not complying with the regulations
of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation number PM 67 of 2018 regarding
road markings and the traffic sign conditions not complying with the rules of the
Indonesian Ministry of Transportation number PM 13 of 2014 regarding traffic
signs.
