Abstract
Concrete is one of the structural materials that is widely used for infrastructure
development in Indonesia, concrete has quite a large strength, especially in terms of
compressive strength. Along with the development of technology, many studies have been
conducted to obtain good quality concrete, including by providing additional materials.
The materials used in this research were fiber optic waste as an additional material for
the weight of the concrete and 10% broken glass powder as a partial replacement for fine
aggregate. The aim was to determine the compressive strength results and get the
percentage variation in the addition of fiber optic fiber and broken glass powder in the
concrete mixture.
The method used in this research is experimental, namely experimenting with a
compressive strength plan of fc'20Mpa, to obtain results by confirming the relationship
between variables. Variables that influence compressive strength are seen from the aspect
of adding fiber optic fibers cut into 5 cm pieces and broken glass powder at 10% of the
weight of the fine aggregate. The implementation stages consist of preparation, mix
planning, making test objects, compressive strength testing, data analysis, and
conclusions. It is hoped that this research will provide benefits in the field of technology
and concrete construction in the future.
From this research analysis and discussion, the average compressive strength
obtained with 0% fiber, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, and 10% broken glass powder is 20.76 Mpa,
and 21.70 Mpa, respectively. 22.51 Mpa, 23.82 Mpa. So we get the best percentage of fiber
optic addition, namely 0.4%, amounting to 23.82 Mpa, an increase of 26% compared to
normal concrete. For the slump value of the mixture, the results were 11.3 cm, 10.8 cm,
10, respectively. 2 cm, and 9.2 cm.
