Abstract
Technological developments have developed very rapidly in this modern
era. So it really influences various aspects of life. This includes the world of
education. Religious education is an important aspect in the development of
elementary school (SD) children to understand how to pray well. However, often
the complexity and abstraction of the material makes the learning process a
challenge. In an effort to improve the quality of learning prayer procedures for
elementary school children, this research aims to design and build an Androidbased
Augmented Reality (AR) application. The system development method uses
the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which is a software
development approach that focuses on the use of models as a key element in all
development elements. This application is designed to facilitate elementary school
children in understanding the steps to prayer through the use of 3D visualization
produced by AR technology. Evaluation of the application was carried out through
trials on a number of elementary school children as respondents to evaluate the
effectiveness, usability and acceptability of the application being developed. The
evaluation results show that the AR application for learning prayer procedures is
able to increase elementary school children's understanding of prayer procedures
in a fun and interactive way. It is hoped that this application can become an
innovative and interesting learning alternative for elementary school children in
understanding Islamic religious teachings, especially prayer procedures.
