This study aims to determine students acceptance of online learning using
WhatsApp so that it is useful and can support students learning. This research is a
quantitative study using a closed questionnaire method as a data collection
technique. Respondents in this study were all grade 9th students at one of junior
high schools in Purbalingga. 99 students were sampled in this study, and
researchers used purposive sampling. For data analysis, researcher used
descriptive statistics in SPSS. The results of the study show that the majority of
students accept the use of WhatsApp technology because it makes it easier for
students to access materials, information, and interact with other students as well
as the ease of features to support online learning. In this study there are supporting
factors such as the availability of students learning needs, motivation to help
students overcome laziness, and ease of communicating with teachers, friends,
and other people when attending online classes using the WhatsApp feature. In
addition, there are problem factors such as difficulty adapting to discussions with
teachers, friends and other people. In this study it was intended that students
become more productive when using WhatsApp as a learning management system
(LMS) so that they communicate smoothly with other students, teachers become
more innovative and proficient in using the WhatsApp feature when teaching
online classes, and future researchers looks for additional references to ensure
accurate results, and sources of information and actively participates in the
process of collecting and processing data to produce satisfactory results.
