Abstract
This research aimed to 1) discover the technology adoption process in the production of candied pineapple;2) figure out the factors which influenced the level of technology adoption (the supporting and inhibiting ones), and 3) find out the feasibility of pineapple candied business in the technology adoption process at Tiga Sekawan Home Industry. The research site was selected purposively. The analysis of the technology adoption process, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in the production of candied pineapple was, carried out using the descriptive method. Meanwhile, the analysis of business feasibility was conducted using a quantitative method with the analysis of production cost, revenue, net income, Break-Even Point, and RIC Ratio. The research sample was taken using the saturated sampling technique.
The results ofthis research indicated that in the theory of Rogers, (1983) as a whole, the machines and equipment used for the production of candied pineapple were in the evaluation phase and the type of technology was categorized at medium level. In addition, it is found that the supporting factors for the technology adoption in the production of candied pineapple included business potential, experience, absorption of information, and related institutions and agencies. On the other hand, the inhibiting factors included capital, age, application of digital information adoption, application of technology adoption,
and location. The results of the business feasibility analysis showed a value of 1.41, which means that the production of candied pineapple at Tiga Sekawan home industry was profitable and feasible to run.
