This research aims to describe the forms of social deviance found in the
title of ten short stories on a website called lakonhidup.com and the factors
that cause the deviance. This was qualitative descriptive research with the
sociological approach of literature. The data presented were in the form of
texts containing the forms of social deviance in the title of ten short stories.
The data source was the title of ten short stories on lakonhidup.com.
Research data were collected using the reading and noting technique. Then
the data were analyzed through several techniques, including (1) data
reduction, (2) data display, and (3) conclusion drawing. Based on the results
of the analysis, the forms of social deviance found in the title of ten short
stories on the lakonhidup.com site were: (1) drug abuse which included a)
heroin consumption and b) alcohol consumption; (2) deviant actions
committed by students which included a) cheating, b) beating, and c)
truancy; (3) free-sexual relations included a) infidelity and b) juvenile
delinquency; (4) criminal acts consisting of (a) Habitual Criminals in the
form of a) rape, b) molestation or violence, and c) gambling; (b) The
Organized Criminals in the form of prostitution; (c) The Lower Class
Criminals in the form of theft; (d) White Collar Criminals in the form of
gratuity; and (e) The Occasional Criminals in the form of vigilante. While the
factors causing social deviance consisted of four things, namely: (1)
imperfect socialization of values, (2) adherence to deviant subcultural values,
(3) misunderstanding of information,and (4) different social bonds.
