Abstract

The principal is related to the individual capabilities of the leader in suggesting, motivating, inviting, fostering, moving individuals or groups to do something in an effort to realize the goals that have been set. Because the sign of one of the determining factors, the high and low quality of education and teacher performance in schools is the leadership of the principal. This is understandable because leadership does not only take the initiative, but also means managerial ability, namely the ability to organize and put things in their place. but for experience, one of the things that needs to be done is to direct, plan, organize, mobilize and discipline teachers to perform well in the discharge of teacher performance. This study uses a qualitative method, with the aim of analyzing the principal's efforts to improve the effectiveness of the performance of elementary school teachers. In the level of understanding of teacher management carried out by school principals, it can really become the basis for playing a role in level and effectiveness and being able to understand the potential of teachers in schools, namely in accordance with their abilities and placement based on their respective potentials. and always aware of the shortcomings that exist in him, improve on these shortcomings in an effort to improve towards a better. As well as building the school's vision by involving all parties who have an interest. In terms of learning, teachers are given the opportunity to continue to innovate, this makes learning quality not one-way and students will be enthusiastic in learning. The principal builds a work ethic and responsibility, provides guidance by supervising and gives the right motivation and professionalism to enable teachers to be satisfied as educators. This provides a direction that the principal is able to improve the effectiveness of teacher performance.
