Kembaran Subdistrict is one of the districts with rapid area development, as evidenced by the increasing infrastructure development. This infrastructure development resulted in a decrease in the production yields in the agricultural sector due to the impact of land conversions. The decline in the agricultural sector production can cause food insecurity disasters for the population of Kembaran Subdistrict. A descriptive qualitative research method was used to analyze the land conversions and the patterns as well as the food security levels. The indicators were agricultural lands, settlements, and household consumption expenditures for 1 month. The study was conducted on the land use of 16 villages by using the snowball purposive sampling technique. The analysis was carried out using image interpretation and utilizing the ArcGIS 10.6 software application to review land conversions in 2000 and 2020. On the other hand, the analysis of the food security level was carried out by calculating the share index of food expenditure. The results of the study showed that in the time between 2000 and 2020, there had been some land conversions in Kembaran Subdistrict. This is evidenced by the decrease in agricultural land by 95.38 Ha, and followed by an increase in the area of residential land by 95.38 Ha. The patterns of the land conversion found were in the form of demographic adaptation land conversion, multi-form land conversion, and land conversion due to social problems. Furthermore, these land conversions caused 30% of the population of Kembaran Subdistrict to suffer food insecurity, while 70% of the population still had food security.
