Abstract

This research used an anthropological, archaeological, semiotic, and Javanese philosophy approach, to help revealing the results of local culture. The method used in this research was the historical research method (historical) as the main or an attempt to approach the objects based on space and time. The process of obtaining data or information at each stage (heuristics, criticism or verification, interpretation, and historiography). Heuristics is the beginning of historical research to find traces and sources of historical events. Criticism or verification at the critical stage, internal criticism, and external criticism are conducted to find the menti-facts, socio-facts, and artifacts. Interpretation or interpreting historical facts, historians try to describe in detail the facts called analysis related to the history and architecture of the traditional Joglo house in Pekuncen village. Historiography is the pinnacle of historical research methods, researchers present writing reports from beginning to end which are obtained and presented in several interconnected chapters by paying attention to the principles of chronology, periodization, and causality.
Chapter two answers the first research problem regarding the history of Pekuncen Village, Jatilawang Sub-District of Banyumas Regency which includes the geographical conditions of Pekuncen village, and the history of the founding of Pekuncen village. Chapter three answers the second research problem regarding the architectural features of the traditional Joglo house in Pekuncen village, which includes the background of the establishment of the traditional house in Pekuncen village, and the construction of the Joglo traditional house in Pekuncen village. Chapter four answers the third research problem regarding the value of local wisdom in the traditional Joglo house of Pekuncen village which includes the function, symbolic meaning of the traditional house of Pekuncen village, and cultural activities in the traditional house of Pekuncen village.
The use of Bale Pasemuan and Bale Malang houses as a place of prayer and also explains certain goals and objectives. All of them are presented in traditional houses of Bale Pasemuan and Bale Malang as a traditional place for certain purposes in every traditional ceremony. In addition, the same thing is found in the Kongsen house, which is characterized by the presence of spaces used to place offerings such as Pasren or Amben Tengah and Senthong. In addition, the existence of Bale Pekipon which is used as a place for ngangsu kawruh or learning for the children and grandchildren of Bonokeling, and also used as a place to do sungkeman to Kiai Kunci or Bedogol, it means that Kongsen house is also particularly a ritual space for Kiai Kunci and Bedogol, and
generally for members of the Bonokeling community.
