Abstract

This research objective was to identify the English teachers difficulties in
implementing curriculum 2013 and to know the teacher solution in solving the
difficulties. The subject of this research were English teachers of SMP Negeri 9
Purwokerto and English teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Sumbang. The number of
teachers was 4. The type of this research was Qualitative Research. This research
used three kinds of methods to collect the data; observation, questionnaire and
interview. Based on the data analysis, the average of questionnaire’s result was
87,5 %. It showed that most of teachers gave negative responses. It was concluded
that the implementation of 2013 Curriculum was not implemented maximally. All
English teachers being interviewed said that the teaching learning process did not
run as well. The English teachers’ overcome the difficulties by applying learning
model which a suits the class in order to increase student motivation and using
printed images (props) to support the teaching and learning process.
