Student graduation is an important thing to pay attention to, because a significant decrease in the number of graduating students will have an effect on higher education accreditation. The Informatics Engineering Study Program is one of the study programs at the Muhammadiayah University of Purwokerto which was founded in 2006. Until now, quite a number of students have received bachelor's degrees, but there are still students who graduate not on time. The Informatics Engineering Study Program has an average graduation percentage value for 5 years (2007-2016) which is 19%. Classification is the process of finding a set of models / functions that describe and differentiate data into certain classes. Classification can be used to predict whether a student is said to pass on time or not. The backpropagation method is a method used in classification. Classification is carried out using academic data of students graduation year 2013 - 2016. The variables used are 5, namely Semester 1 - 4 Achievement Index and the number of Semester Credit Units that have been taken. The level of testing accuracy with 10 times the change in the learning rate value results in an accuracy of 85.48%
