Abstract

Early mature Soybean variety is one solution to increase domestic soybean
production. The soybeans would perfectly grow if all growing factors are fulfilled,
but the presence of weeds in cultivation can be a competitor for the soybean crop.
Therefore weeding control technology is considered easy to carry out and give a
real impact on the growth and productivity of soybeans.
This study aimed to determine the effective and efficient weeding
frequency toward the growth and result response of early matured soybean
varieties. This study was conducted in the University of Muhammadiyah
Purwokerto field trials, from February to April 2016. The study is based on
completely randomized design and repeated three times for each. The first factor
is soybean varieties, namely: (K1) Gema variety, (K2) Grobogan variety. The
second factor is the level of weeding, namely: (P0) without daytime, (P1) weed at
age 10 HST, (P2) weed at the age of 10 and 20 days after planting, (P3) wed at
age 10, 20, and 30 days after planting, and (P4) continuously and constantly
weed. The data obtained were analyzed by test - F. If the treatment effectively
affects the object, it will be followed by DMRT at 5% level.
The result showed that two soybean varieties had no significant effect on
growth response. Grobogan varieties had better than gema varieties, in particular
planting weight of 100 grains of fresh beans that is K2 : 38,80 gram, K1 : 27,87
gram.
The periode of weeding treatment wed at age 10, 20, and 30 days after
planting give the best growth and result response. P3 treatment had planting seed
weight 112,03 gram. There is no significant interaction between soybean varieties
with the frequency of weeding on the growth and result of soybean.
