Abstract

This research was motivated by the limited implementation of teaching material in
the learning process. The purposes of this research were 1) to find out the teaching
material of clean and healthy lifestyle including washing hands and brushing teeth
based on listen-watch-do learning, 2) to find out the appropriateness of the
teaching materials, 3) to find out the teachers' response on the healthy and clean
lifestyle, 4)to find out the students response on the healthy and clean lifestyle, and
5)to find out the effectiveness of healthy and clean lifestyle on the second grade of
Primary School. This Research and Development used Borg and Gall model
which included 10 stages namely: (1) Problem and Potential, (2) Data Collection,
(3)ProductDesign,(4)DesignValidation,(5)DesignRevision,(6)ProductTesting,(7)P
roductRevision,(8)Implementation,(9)ProductRevision,and(10)ProductInstallation
. The validation was done by the experts of teaching material and materials, the
subject testing was done in small scale, large scale, and effectiveness test, the
product testing was done on 20 second grade students of SD Negeri 4 Rejodadi
and SD Negeri 5 Rejodadi, and the effectiveness test was done on 20 second grade
students of MI Muhammadiyah Rejodadi andSD Negeri 1 Rejodadi. The data
were analyzed using descriptive data, normality test, homogeneity test, and
hypothesis test (t-test). The results showed that the validation of the teaching
materials was 4.47 with very good criteria, the teachers' response toward the
teaching materials was 4.78with good criteria, and the students' response toward
the teaching materials was 4.7with very good criteria. Therefore, it is concluded
that the product of teaching materials on healthy and clean lifestyle including
washing hands and brushing teeth based on listen-watch-do learning was
effectively implemented in the second grade for learning purposes and developing
the students healthy and clean lifestyle.
