The purpose of this study is to describe the many types of social values found in Lea Pamungkas' collection of short stories "Orang-orang Pinggiran". This study employed descriptive qualitative research methods. A reading and note-taking technique were used to collect data in this study. Data reduction, data presentation, and data verification are some of the data analysis approach employed. The findings of this study are discussed in relation to the social values found in Lea Pamungkas' collection of short stories "Orang-orang Pinggiran". These social values are (a) compassion, which includes devotion, help, kinship, and caring; (b) responsibility, which includes personal responsibility and societal responsibility; and (c) life harmony, which includes cooperation and deliberation, and are described by the author using characterization methods, dramatic techniques, and analytical techniques.
