The large number of unemployed in Indonesia causes these job seekers to migrate, either migrating from one area to another, or migrating to foreign countries, hereinafter referred to as Indonesian migrant workers or better known as TKI (Indonesian Workers). According to Article 1 number (2) of Law no. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, "Indonesian Migrant Workers are every Indonesian citizen who will, is currently, or has done work for wages outside the territory of the Republic of Indonesia." With the existence of workers who have migrated abroad, of course, the Indonesian government will benefit greatly, because in addition to reducing the number of unemployed in the country, it can also increase the country's foreign exchange. The purpose of this research is to know and analyze legal protection and to know the obstacles in providing legal protection for migrant workers. The method used in this research is the normative juridical method and the empirical juridical method. Data collection methods used to collect primary data through interviews with research subjects and informants. The results of the research of female migrant workers from Gumelar sub-district, that female migrant workers who work abroad receive consular services and legal assistance in the form of facilitation of advocate services. As for the obstacle, the lack of knowledge possessed by female migrant workers related to legal protection issues and their rights and obligations.
