Kombas road Purwokerto is a two ways and undivided road with 7 meters
wide. The big amount of transportations that get through this road and the the
height of its roadside activity affect the traffic volume effectivity especially in some
certain times. Therefore, the analysis of Kombas road capacity is needed. This
research aims to find out the road’s width effectivity, planning and solution for the
next 5 years. The research method is by doing a survey of traffic volume and the
analysis uses Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (1997). The result of the research in
2017 shows that the road’s width is still effective with 0,73 degree of saturation.
Means it does not need widening yet. In 2022 the Kombas road’s width would no
longer being effective to accomodate the traffic wit its 1,08 degree of saturation.
The best scenario is the alternative II that there should be a regulation of no parking
along the Kombas road and the limitation of the vehicle’s amount that can get
through the Kombas road-Mangunjaya road and widening the road become 9
meters. This scenario is effective to increase Kombas road capacity.
