Abstract

Patimura Road is a two-lane road with a width of 7,8 meters, which is the road that connects Purwokerto and Ajibarang. The volume of traffic on the Patimura road section has increased due to the development of this area, where there are shop houses and markets. This study aims to determine the correlation between speed (S), volume (V) and density (D) of traffic in accordance with existing conditions. Field data collection was carried out for 3 days namely Monday April 29th 2019 (morning 06.00-08.00 A.M, afternoon 12.00-14.00 P.M and 16.00-18.00 P.M), Saturday May 4th 2019 (morning 06.00-08.00 A.M, afternoon 12.00-14.00 P.M and 16.00-18.00 P.M) and Sunday May 5th 2019 for 12 hours (06.00 A.M–18.00 P.M). there were two methods used to determine the correlation of traffic characteristics namely Greenshield and Greenberg. From the analysis using the Greenshield method, the Maximum Speed (Sm) on Sunday is 41,5 km/hour, Maximum Volume (Vm) on Saturday is 1317,77 vehicles/hour and Maximum Density (Dm) on Saturday is 69,28 vehicles/km. While from the analysis of Greenberg method, it obtained Maximum Speed (Sm) on Monday is 88,89 km/hour, Maximum Volume (Vm) on Saturday is 4933,7 vehicles/hour and Maximum Density (Dm) on Saturday is 119,37 vehicles/km.
