The research is entitled Description of Mathematical Problem Solving
Ability viewed from the Self Confidence for the Seventh Grade Students of SMP
Negeri 1 Wangon. This study aims to find out how mathematical problem-solving
abilities are viewed from students' self-confidence. The subjects were nine students of
the seventh grade C at SMP Negeri 1 Wangon consisting of three students with high
self-confidence, the other three students with moderate self-confidence, and the rest
three students with low self-confidence. The type of research used in this research is
descriptive qualitative research. The sampling technique applied is purposive
sampling and test the validity of the analysis results is the triangulation technique.
The results showed that 1) the group of students who had a high self-confidence
category, 2) a group of students who had a moderate self-confidence category, and 3)
a group of students who had a low self-confidence category.
