This study aimed to describe students 'metaphorical thinking viewed from students' learning interest in this school. It was a qualitative description research. Sources of data in this study were students of class VIII C of this school. Sample of this study was selected by using purposive sampling technique. Students were categorized into 3 groups for each learning interest: high, medium, and low. Each category selected three students as respondents in the study. Data collection methods used in the study were using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The results of this study indicated that: 1) Students with high learning interest were able to fulfill the stages of Connect, Relate, Explore, Analyze, Transform, and Experience. 2) Students with medium learning interest were able to fulfill the stages of Connect, Relate, Explore, and Analyze. In the stages of Transform and Experience, some students still had weaknesses in concluding the problems and applying the conclusion. 3) Students with low learning interest were only able to fulfill the stages of Connect, Relate, and Explore.
