The background of this research was the students' low reading comprehension skill and this research aimed to improve it. This was a classroom action research with two cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings. The procedure of this research used Kemmis & McTaggart that included planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this research were 18 fourth graders consisting of 11 male and 7 female students. The instruments used test and non-test. the test instrument included the assessment of reading comprehension performance both spoken and written, while the non-test instruments included observation sheets, interview, and documentation. The data results of students' reading comprehension skill in cycle I showed 53% completeness and in cycle II improved to 83.50%. So, it could be concluded that the comic supported PQ4R strategy was able to improve the students' reading comprehension skill in the fourth grade of SD Negeri 1 Beji.
