The study aimed to discover a general description of the condition of Pancasan Village, the development of the roof-tile industry in the Pancasan Village in 2008-2018, and the impact of the roof-tile industry on the socio-economic life of the community. Based on research problems and the purpose of the study, this research was conducted through the historical method, which analyzed the realitiy that happened in the past. The research stages of the historical method were: 1. Heuristics: searching and collecting historical sources. 2. Criticism: this stage was divided into two: external criticism (criticism from the outside/authenticity of the source) and internal criticism (criticism from the credibility/reliability of the source). 3. Interpretation: interpreting or presenting a meaning to historical facts. 4. Historiography: writing history. The research findings were the general condition of the Pancasan community. The majority of this village people were freelance laborers who depended on the roof-tile industry for their main commodity. During its development, the roof-tile industry in Pancasan experienced ups and downs. The development of the roof-tile industry began in 1993 when there was modernization, where there was a technological change from the conventional method by wood and switched to pressure machines and mixer machines. Then, it continued to grow and experience a peak phase in 1998-2000 until finally, many tile product innovations emerged. 2008-2018 was an unstable phase for the Pancasan roof-tile industry and tended to decline. However, the Pancasan roof-tile industry still existed today. The presence of the roof-tile industry contributed an impact to society, both the social side: improving the social status of the community and economic side: improving the welfare of the surrounding community.
