The development of the Internet in both the technology and the usage which
have been increased rapidly resultedin some positive and negative effects. Security and
confidentiality issues are very important in an agency orcompany. One of the ways to
secure the data is by using the cryptography technique. Cryptography is one of
thetechniques used to improve the security aspects of information. It is the study of
science and art to maintain amessage or data information in order for it to be secured.
The DES algorithm is the most widely used algorithmwhich was adopted by NIST
(National Institutes of Standards and Technology) as the US Federal
informationprocessing standard. There are several grouping Algorithms in VPN
softether one of which is the DES algorithmcombined with several DES-CBC-SHA and
DES-CBC3-SHA encryption algorithms. The algorithm was testedusing Webserver
Stress Tool by testing 100 users, 300 users, and 500 users. The results of the data were
in theform of Microsoft files that were calculated using SPSS software with t-test
because it used two samples. Thet-test itself is a statistical test used for test the truth
or falsity of the null hypothesis.Before conducting the t-test,normality and
homogeneous tests were done but the result was not normal therefore Mann Whitney
test wasconducted as the advanced test and the homogeneous test was not necessary.
The result of calculations usingthe Mann Whitney test showed that the DES-CBC-SHA
algorithm was faster at 100 users and 500 users.Therefore, it is very appropriate to
access a web server that aims to keep website access running faster andstable and
make it easier for users to do their job.
