Poverty is one of the problems faced in various regions in Indonesia. In Banyumas Regency, there are 72 villages that are below the poverty level. The majority of residents in the village work in the agricultural sector, either as farmers or as farm laborers. The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) Contribution of the agricultural sectors to PDRB in Banyumas Regency, (2) Poverty conditions in Banyumas Regency, (3) Correlation between PDRB of the agricultural sector to poverty levels in Banyumas Regency, (4) Distribution of income in Banyumas Regency based on the Gini index value. This research uses descriptive method and Pearson Product Moment (PPM) correlation analysis.
The results show that: (1) The added value of the agricultural sector to PDRB from 2010-2017 has increased while its contribution has decreased, (2) The poverty level from 2010 to 2017 has decreased, (3) There is a strong negative correlation between PDRB sector agriculture and poverty level with a correlation value of -0.87. It means that an increase in PDRB in the agricultural sector will reduce the poverty level in Banyumas Regency, (4) The average value of the Gini index in Banyumas Regency is 0.37. Thus, the income distribution is classified equal and the gap between poor and non-poor households are not too far.
