Abstract

Background: Cervical cancer is one of the biggest threats to women's health and ranks second in Indonesia in the category of women with a high incidence and mortality. Efforts to control cervical cancer through early detection have not been optimal. The coverage of cervical cancer screening in Banyumas Regency is still low at 1.44% which is lower than the average in Central Java 1.92% in 2018. Needed for analysis of any factors that affect the willingness of women of childbearing age in the early detection of cervical cancer in Banyumas District West. Method: This study used an observational analytic method with cross-sectional design. The population in this study is women of childbearing age (30-50 years) who have been married in the West Banyumas Regency and meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research sample of 150 respondents using accidental sampling and random cluster sampling techniques. The instrument in the study used a questionnaire. The research data were processed using the Chi-Square Test and Fisher's Test with the degree of significance (α) = 0.05 while the multivariate analysis used logistic regression analysis. Result: Bivariate analysis showed that education (p = 0.076), knowledge (p = 0.014), access to information (p = 0.001), sources of information (p = 0.019), husband's support (p = 0.003), employment (p = 0.329) , age of marriage (p = 0.807), parity (p = 0.802), contraceptive use (p = 0.770), type of contraception (p = 0.751), and duration of contraceptive use (p = 0.624). Multivariate analysis showed the greatest strength of the relationship was husband's support with p values 0.004 and OR 2.06. Conclusion: Factors that influence the willingness of women of childbearing age in early detection of cervical cancer are knowledge, access to information, husband's support and the most dominant is husband's support. Women of childbearing age who have the support of their husbands to do early detection of cervical cancer have a 2.06 chance to be willing to do early detection of cervical cancer.
