This research aimed to describe the linguistic phenomena in the word-formation on
intermezo rubric in Harian Radar Banyumas January, February and March 2019
editions. This type of research was a qualitative descriptive study. The data used in
this study were the words contained in the Intermezo rubric news. The data source
used in this study was Harian Radar Banyumas the January, February and March
2019. The research was carried out using three stages; (1) data provision stage, (2)
data analysis stage, (3) data analysis result presentation stage. In the data provision,
the observation method was used, with the basic note-taking technique. Data that had
been observed were afterward recorded and then classified based on the types of
language phenomenon in the form of ables. Analyzing data used distributional method
with immediate constituent analysis and advanced techniques, namely the omission
technique, substitution technique, insertion technique, extension technique, and
reversed technique. Result Presentation of the data analysis used informal and formal
presentation methods. The results of this study indicated that in the use of language on
the Intermezo rubric news in Harian Radar Banyumas January, February, and March
2019 edition found 43 findings of language symptoms, which were divided into 7
language symptoms in details; (1) phoneme addition or addition (prothesis obtained 1
data, 3 data epentheses found, 8 data paragog found, (2) phonemic removal or
reduction (2 data of aphaeresis found, 8 syncope data, and 4 apocope data), (3) there
were 9 data phenomenon of contraction, (4 ) 4 data of syncope and apocope, (5)
Afaresis and monophonization were found as many as 4 data, (6) 1 datum of aphesis
and prosthesis, and (7) 2 data of epenthesis and paragog.
