Abstract

Giving more than one drug antipsychotic drugs (polypharmacy) in schizophrenic patients allows interaction and is susceptible to the occurrence of DRPs. Drug Related Problems (DRPs) identification on treatment is expected to help reduce morbidity, mortality and costs in treatment. Drug Related Problems identification research (DRPs aims to determine the characteristics of schizophrenic patients and to find out how the incidence of DRPs in hospitalized patients diagnosed with schizophrenia in Banyumas Hospital. This study is observational with a descriptive analysis design conducted prospectively. analyzing DRPs is Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe V8.02 The sample in this study is 68 samples.The results of this study indicate that men experience more schizophrenia.The diagnosis of most schizophrenic patients is residual schizophrenia (82.35%), schizophrenia is not detailed (10.29 %) and paranoid schizophrenia (7.35%). DRPs experienced by patients on therapeutic effectiveness have three problems, namely (P 1.1) there is no indication of drug administration (2.43%), (P 1.2) the effect of therapy is not optimal (1.46%) , (P 1.3) there are symptoms or indications that are not addressed (31.70%), and on security t there are problems (P 2.1) unwanted drug reactions (64.39%). Causes of DRPs experienced by patients in drug selection; (C 1.3) there was no indication of drug administration (2.43%), (C 1.4) improper combination of drugs both with drugs, and or with food or herbal medicine (47.31%); while the cause is due to dose selection; (C 3.1) drug dose is too low / sub therapy (0.97%), (C 3.2) drug dose is too high (36.58%); and (C 8.2) other causes (12.68%).
