Abstract

This study aimed to improve mathematical communication skills and self-efficacy on
seventh-grade students by using Double Loop Problem Solving learning at MTs
Negeri 3 Banyumas. The subjects used were class VII A students of MTs Negeri 3
Banyumas in Academic Year 2018/2019 totaled to 26 students. This research was a
class action research consisting of 3 cycles. The instrument used to measure students
'mathematical communication ability was a written test in the form of essay
questions and to measure students' self-efficacy was by using a self-efficacy
questionnaire. Based on the results of the study in the first cycle, the average value of
the evaluation tests on students mathematical communication skills obtained a value
of 52.03, in cycle II improved to74.02, and cycle III had increased to 76.58. The
results of the self-efficacy questionnaire in the 1st cycle were 68.59 then in the
second cycle improved to 72.80 and in the third cycle also increased to 75.64.
