The objective of this study was to describe mathematical literacy ability of students of
SMP N 1 Bojong viewed from Adversity Quotient (AQ) in the material of Polyhedrone.
The researcher used a qualitative research method with data analysis techniques using
the Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data display, and
verification. The populations were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bojong and the
samples were nine students of class VIII F. Determination of samples using purposive
sampling by selecting 3 students with high Adversity Quotient (AQ) group or Climbers, 3
students in Medium Adversity Quotient (AQ) group or Campers, and 3 students in low
Adversity Quotient (AQ) group or Quitters. The results obtained in the study concluded
that students having high Adversity Quotient (AQ) or Climbers were able to meet all
aspects of indicators of mathematical literacy ability, namely formulating, using
concepts, facts, procedures, and reasoning; as well as interpreting, implementing, and
evaluating. Students with medium Adversity Quotient (AQ) groups or Campers were only
able to meet indicators namely formulating, and using concepts, facts, procedures, and
reasoning. Whereas, low Adversity Quotient (AQ) groups or Quitters could not meet
indicators of mathematical literacy abilities.
