The aim of this research was to find out the quality of test item in the term of difficulty level, discriminating power, and the validity. This research used documentary as the instrument and the test as the data collection. The test was taken on December 2017 as in SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto when the English final semester examination event held. Around 300 students of ninth grade joined this examination and the sample that took were 58 students’ answer sheets of two classes using random sampling. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistic. After analyzing the data, there were around 22 items categorized moderate items, this means those items were not difficult and also not too easy. Then, there were 7 good items because they had discrimination power. And also, 10 items classified as good in the validity and it did not need any revision.
