Abstract

The background of this study is the lack of students tolerance attitude and their learning achievement. This study aims to improve their tolerance attitude and learning achievement through Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted with snakes and ladders media. This is a classroom action research using CAR procedures according to Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. It consists of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. It included 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings; each meeting has one lesson plan. The subjects of this study were grade IV students, amounting to 30 students consisting of 11 males and 19 females. The researcher used test and non-test techniques for data collection tools. The results of this classroom action research show an improvement of the students' tolerance and their learning achievement at each meeting in each cycle. It can be concluded that the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted with snakes and ladders media can effectively improve the students' tolerance attitude and their learning achievement on the theme 8 Daerah Tempat Tinggalku (Place Where I Live).
