Drug abuse is an international problem faced by all countries, including
Indonesia. The case tends to increase and become a latent danger. To suppress
cases of drug abuse, the preventive effort is very important one of them through
health education using peer education method. This study aims to determine the
difference before and after being given education by the method of peer education
to the level of knowledge and attitudes about the prevention of drug abuse in
students. This study used pree-experimental design with one group design with
pretest and postest, using a group that received education by Peer education
method. In this study the number of respondents was 106 people. This research
was conducted in SMK Kota Tegal with sampling accidental sampling technique.
Research data on knowledge and attitude level were analyzed using McNemar
test. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that education by peer
education method can significantly improve knowledge and attitude on the
students of SMK in Kota Tegal with p value 0,000.
