Mathematical problem solving skills are related to students' skills to solve
problems by understanding problems, planning problem solving, implementing
problem solving plans and checking again. The blood type of each individual
characterizes one's skills in solving problems. This study aims to describe students'
mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of blood type in comparison material.
The research subjects were seventh grade students of Kedungbanteng Middle School
2. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling by taking 3 students from
each blood group. Data collection uses tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques
use the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation,
and conclusions. The results obtained by students in solving blood type A problems can
do the stage of understanding the problem by interpreting story problems, applying
problem solving plans to drawing conclusions. Blood type B can understand the
problem by interpreting pictorial questions or story problems, planning solutions using
variables and implementing problem solving plans. Blood type AB can do the stage of
understanding the problem by interpreting story problems, can plan problem solving
in various ways. Blood type O can understand the problem by interpreting pictorial
questions and story problems, and can check again.
