This research aims to describe students' language symptoms at the age of 2-4
years old in PAUD (Early Childhood Education) Pribadi Mandiri in terms of verbal
communication. This is is a qualitative descriptive; its data are the words uttered by
2-4 years old students especially on teaching learning process. The data source of this
research are the students. This research is divided into three stages providing data,
data analysis, and displaying data analysis result. On the stage of providing data,
observation method and tapping technique are used, and as the continuation
technique Involved Conversation Observation technique, record technique, and
writing technique are used. On the stage of analyzing data, the researcher uses
distributional method. On the stage of displaying the result, formal and informal
method are used. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, there are some
kinds of language symptoms in 2-4 years old students' utterance in the school on
March-April 2017 such as: for 2 years old students are adaptation, variety, addition,
reduction, monophonization, and contraction; for three years old students are
adaptation, addition, reduction, metathesis, monophonization, and contraction; for 4
years old students are adaptation, addition, reduction, monophonization, and
contraction. Adaptation, addition, reduction and contraction are the most common
symptoms for 2-4 years students from the observed 15 kinds of the symptoms. The
language symptoms appear in the form of either words or sentences in students'
utterance intentionally or unintentionally, consciously or unconsciously in the process
of getting language as the form of understanding the language. There is also forming
words pattern in the words uttered by 2, 3 and 4 years old students.
