This study entitled Value Education Family in Rumah Seribu Malaikat
Novel by Yuli Badawi and Hermawan Aksan, aimed to describe the values of
family education contained in the novel Rumah Seribu Malaikat by Yuli Badawi
and Hermawan Aksan and describe the relevance of family educational values that
exist in novel with today's society.
The method used in this research is descriptive method of analysis.
Descriptive method of analysis, researchers uncover the facts seem to give a
description followed by the analysis in the form of interpretation to provide an
understanding of taste. While the approach is sociological approach to moral and
literary approaches moral approach used in this study because the values of family
education is closely related to moral education. While the literary sociology
approach used in this study because this study reveal the relevance of the
educational value of the family in the novel with today's society.
Results of this study indicate that family educational values that can be
found in the novel Rumah Seribu Malaikat by Yuli Badawi and Hermawan Aksan
are: (1) embed monotheism and faith to children, (2) teach the Qur'an and hadith,
(3 ) teaches prayer and other devotions, (4) treating children with affection and
wise, (5) to treat the child according to his ability, (6) do justice to every child, (7)
take into account the child socially, (8) introduces children and stay in touch to
relatives, and (9) to educate children to care for others. The results also showed
that family educational values contained in the novel is still valid and needed by
today's society. Relevance is evidenced by the difference in attitude between the
children who were given a family with good education by parents with children
who are not given a good education by his parents with the family. Children who
received family education of parents grow and develop into a well-mannered child
and achievement. While the children are not getting a good education from a
family with parents tend to show the opposite attitude.
