This research was entitled “The Social Deixis on Speech act of Medical and
Non-Medical Nurses to Patients of PKU Muhammadiyah Merden Purwanegara
Banjarnegara in September 2015”. The problem formulation of the research was “how
was the use of social Deixis on Speech act of Medical and Non-Medical Nurses to
patients of PKU Muhammadiyah Merden Purwanegara Banjarnegara?”. This reseach
aimed to describe the determining factors of speech act event, and the use of social
deixis in speech act of medical and non-medical nurses to the patient in PKU
Muhammadiyah Merden Purwanegara Banjarnegara.
The data of thirty nine items of speech act consisting social deixis, and the data
sourch was from six medical nurses, one non-medical nurse, and thirty nine patients.
The research used qualitative descriptive.
Based on finding and discussion, it was found the use of social deixis on
specch act of medical and non-medical nurses to patients of PKU Muhammadiyah
Merden Purwanegara Banjarnegara was only in respect rank due to age factor. It could
be seen from the determining factors of speech act events, the use of social deixis
above were affected by participants, instrumentalities, and norms.
