Abstract
The purpose of this research was to improve social interaction skills through
role-play method to the theme of the work in the child group B Aisyiyah Sangkanayu
kindergarten. This study is a Class Action Research (PTK) which was held in two
cycles each cycle consisting of three sessions. Subjects of research are 22 children
group B TK Aisyiyah Sangkanayu which consisting of 13 girls and 9 boys with a
mean age of 6 years.
Methods of data collection in this study uses observations using instruments
of social interaction skills of observation sheets, observation sheets and involvement
in playing the role of teacher observation sheets, and documentation activities in the
form of photographs. Analysis of data using qualitative descriptive techniques.
The results showed that there was an increase in social interaction skills in
students after the treatment is given through a method of playing a role with the
theme of the work. This is indicated by the increase in social interaction skills in
young learners, from the initial condition of the child is developing very well there
are 7 children or 32%, which develop according to expectations of a child or 5%, the
child begins to develop 2 or 9%, and the undeveloped 12 children or 54%. On the
cycle I was increasing the social interaction skills develop very well there are 12
children 54%, develop appropriate expectations of children 5 or 23%, the child begins
to develop 2 or 9% and 3 children in underdeveloped or 14%. An increase in the
optimal cycle II is the ability to develop very good social interaction there are 19
children or 86%, the child begins to develop 2 or 9%, and the undeveloped only 1
child or 5%. For social interaction skills of children who are just beginning to evolve
and underdeveloped given by conducting follow-up home visit and cooperation with
parents and teachers to provide activities that can improve social interaction skills
such as role playing activities.
