This study entitled Gender Inequality Women Leaders in the short story Yang
Menunggu dengan Payung Works Zelfeni Wimra and Suggestions Implementation as
Learning Materials Literature in high school. The purpose of this study was to
describe forms of gender injustice experienced by female characters in the short story
collection Yang Menunggu dengan Payung works Zelfeni Wimra then implemented as
a matter of learning literature in high school.
The approach used in this study is the approach of feminist literary criticism.
This approach was used to examine the literature from the point of view of women or
women is reading. The method used in this research is descriptive method of analysis.
The data in this study is the text containing forms of gender injustice experienced by
female characters in the short story collection Yang Menunggu dengan Payung Wimra
Zelfeni work. Sources of data in this study is the book collection of The Waiting with
Umbrella Wimra Zelfeni work, published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama in March
2013, Thickness of this short story is 148 pages.
The results of this study indicate that gender inequality female characters in
the short story collection Yang Menunggu dengan Payung works Zelfeni Wimra who
studied based on feminist literary criticism in the form of (1) which includes the
subordination of women to restrain forward, ignoring the feelings of women, and
degrading position of women. (2) The stereotype that includes a negative assessment
of women who are not in circumcision, a negative assessment of women is a widow,
and a negative assessment of noble women who mingle with the common man. (3)
The violence that includes sexual harassment in the form of dirty jokes is vulgar
convey to someone in a way that felt very offensive, sexual harassment in the form of
hurt or embarrass someone to talk dirty, and rape of women. Of the three forms of
gender inequality in the short story collection Yang Menunggu dengan Payung Wimra
Zelfeni work can be implemented as learning material in high school literature class
XI first semester of using the discovery learning model.
