Abstract
Honey is a sweet and thick food ingredient that is golden to dark brown in color with high sugar content and low fat, the honey collection process involves special techniques such as the use of certain tools, such as beehives that must consist of several parts of the nest box, honey collection tools. Based on information from the head of the apis cerana honey farmers association in Belik village, honey farmers still have difficulty in the process of harvesting honey, squeezing to filtering, this is due to the limited tools used. The purpose of this study is to design a honey squeezer using the centrifugal extraction method to increase honey production, so that it can maintain the quality of honey for honey farmers in Belik village. This squeezer uses a DC (Direct Current) motor drive using the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) method because it is considered effective in controlling the speed of the DC (Direct Current) motor, but a BTS7960 DC motor driver circuit is still needed which can flow larger currents and voltages and is easy to control with an ATMega 16 microcontroller for rotation direction and speed by setting a duty cycle of 20%, RPM 386.7; duty cycle 30%, RPM 714.2; duty cycle 40%, RPM 1013.6. The honey squeezing process was carried out three times, it took 2 minutes with a honeycomb weight of 1034 grams and the clean honey produced was 210 grams.
