This study aims to find out the level of students' anxiety in speaking English.
Descriptive quantitative method was used as a research method. 20% (28 students)
of the students from third semester of English Department, Universitas
Muhammadiyah Purwokerto was selected randomly as the respondent of this
research. Questionnaire consists of 33 questions was used to collect the data. The
data then analysed statistically to know the level of students speaking anxiety. The
results from this study reveal that the majority of students (64%) have a high level
of anxiety in speaking English. In addition, panic was the dominant factors of
anxiety in speaking English with 73%.
