The research titled " Local Wisdom Preservation of Batik Culture at SMA
Negeri 1 Sokaraja" aimed to explore the following aspects: the history of the
establishment of the Batik Local Wisdom Education Program (PBKL) at SMA Negeri
1 Sokaraja, the batik products created by students at the school, the most famous and
unique batik motifs, and the benefits derived from batik activities at the school. The
research method involved three steps: (1) in-depth interviews with informants/subjects
of the research, (2) direct observation by the researcher at SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja, and
(3) documentation. The study results were as follows: (1) The PBKL Batik (Local
Wisdom-Based Education Program) originated from the Banyumas District Education
Office's program in 2008/2009. This program mandated SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja to
highlight a local/regional advantage as part of the curriculum content in relevant
SK/KD (Standards of Competence/Basic Competencies). (2) By the 2016/2017
academic year, SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja began creating its batik motifs. The batik
products from the students were produced in over 50 unique batik motifs created by
the students. The most famous batik motif at SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja was Batik Tri
Puruhita, a masterpiece created by the skilled hands of the students. (3) Students'
enthusiasm for batik activities at SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja presented a significant
positive impact. It did not only attract students but also assisted the school in
establishing a unique branding and identity, distinguishing it from other schools in
Banyumas.
