Abstract

Campaka Village, located in Campaka District, Purwakarta Regency, is one of the areas affected by the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural uses. In 2018, the area of rice fields in Campaka Village was 71 hectares; by 2019, 21 hectares had been converted by investors for residential and industrial development. The primary issue arising from this conversion is the continuous reduction of agricultural land, which is supposed to be a source of income to meet farmers' living needs. The aim of this study is to identify the factors causing the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural uses, to understand the changes in the income structure of farmers' households before and after the land conversion, and to assess the impact of agricultural land conversion on farmers' household income. This research was conducted from February to April 2024 in Campaka Village. The research method used is the Survey Research Method. The sampling method employed purposive sampling, resulting in 35 respondents. The study findings indicate that factors influencing land conversion include internal factors, external factors, and policy factors. The income structure of farmers' households, according to the research results, shows that most respondents have shifted their livelihoods from agriculture to entrepreneurship. The impact of agricultural land conversion on farmers' household income has led to a decrease in the planting area, and overall, farmers' household income has declined.
