This research uses deconstruction analysis to redefine the new meaning of
relationships through the dynamic personality transformation of the main
characters in the Elemental (2023) movie. By examining Ember Lumen and Wade
Ripple, the study aims to reveal the complexity of their characters and the evolving
nature of their relationship. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative research
method that focuses on data collection in the form of image cuts and dialog
analysis of the main characters. Furthermore, this research has the urgency to
provide a new perspective in understanding relationships, especially in the context
of characters who have different cultural backgrounds and the challenges they
face. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, Ember Lumen
and Wade Ripple find new meaning in a relationship through personality
transformation. This result is found by using deconstruction analysis that
highlights the contrasting character differences that ultimately create a balance of
openness in their relationship.
