The purpose of this study is to determine the description of Otto Anderson, the main character in Marc Forster's film A Man Called Otto, in terms of the fulfilment of his love needs. This study uses Abraham Maslow's psychological theory, the Hierarchy of Human Needs, with a supporting theory by Robert J. Sternberg, the Triangular Theory of Love. Using qualitative methods and descriptive analysis techniques, this study found that Otto Anderson, the main character, has a sense of loss of love and belonging after being left by his wife Sonya, which makes him antisocial and depressed until he tries to kill himself. He attempts suicide several times, but is always accidentally thwarted by his neighbours. The failure of his suicide, due to the distraction of his neighbour's actions, indirectly led Otto to return to socialise and also to regain his love and belonging. The love and belonging that he gets can also be seen from the supporting theory of the theory of love, and it was found that there was a component of love that he gets from the people around him, and that is intimacy. The results of this study indicate that Otto regains his love and belonging, and there is a component of love, that is intimacy.
