Abstract

This research aims to investigate the efforts to enhance self-confidence through role-playing activities among 5-6-year-old children at Aisyiyah BA Kalipetung Kindergarten. Direct involvement of children in the learning process is facilitated through the method of role-playing. This study adopts a classroom action research (CAR) design. The research subjects consist of 15 children. Data collection methods employed include observation sheets and documentation. Data analysis technique applied in this study is qualitative analysis. Based on the conducted classroom action research, it can be concluded that role-playing activities contribute to the improvement of self-confidence among 5-6-year-old children at Aisyiyah BA Kalipetung Kindergarten, located in Wangon District, Banyumas Regency. This conclusion is supported by the observation results obtained from cycle I and cycle II, which exhibit improvement. Initially, out of the total subjects, 3 children (20%) displayed good self-confidence, while the remaining 13 children required further stimulation, with 5 children (33%) categorized as having below average confidence (BB) and 7 children (47%) categorized as having moderate confidence (MB). Cycle I demonstrated notable improvement, with 7 children (47%) achieving expected levels of self-confidence, and 2 children (13%) displaying excellent self-confidence. Cycle II results indicated significant progress, with 9 children (60%) achieving expected levels of self-confidence and 5 children (33%) displaying excellent progress.
