Abstract

This study was motivated by initial observations indicating a lack of numeracy skills among children in Group A KB Aisviyah Tunas Melati, Losari. The lecture-based teaching method by teachers affected it. Consequently, children become bored and pay insufficient attention to the teacher during learning activities. To address this issue, an appropriate game-based method was needed to engage children and enhance their focus during learning. The study aimed to develope numeracy skill through the number stick playing media for children in Group A KB Aisyiyah Tunas Melati, Losari, Ampelgading district. The research methodology was Classroom Action Research (CAR), with the research subjects being children in Group A KB Aisyiyah Tunas Melati, Losari, Ampelgading district. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results revealed that the number stick game was effective in improving children's numeracy skills. It was demonstrated by an increase in numeracy skills from 33% in the initial study to 65% in Cycle I and 86% in Cycle II. Furthermore, the number stick game encouraged children to be more active and provided them with new knowledge and experiences in learning.
