The aim of this research is to improve speaking skills through hand puppets in
group A children of Al Utsmani Warungpring Pemalang KB. This research is
Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles, each cycle
consisting of two meetings. The subjects in this research were 15 children from
group A KB Al Usmani Warungpring Pemalang, consisting of 5 boys and 10
girls. The object of this research is speaking skills through hand puppets. The data
collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The
problem solving steps in this research consist of four stages of activity, namely
planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data analysis used in
this research is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis in this
study showed a significant increase in children's speaking skills. The initial
conditions of the 15 children were 6 children (40%) who were not yet developing
(BB), 5 children (33%) who were starting to develop (MB) and 4 children were
developing according to expectations (BSH). In cycle I, out of 15 children, there
were 2 children (13%) who were not yet developing (BB), 5 children (33%) who
were starting to develop (MB) and 1 child (7%) was developing according to
expectations (BSH). In Cycle II, out of 15 children, there were 2 children (13%)
who were starting to develop (MB), 10 children who were developing according
to expectations (BSH) and 3 children who were developing very well (BSB). In
other words, there was an increase in children's speaking skills in the initial
condition by 27%, in Cycle I by 53% and in Cycle II by 87%.
